Default Silencer removal?

Does the LS1 in the Trans AM have the "silencer" in the intake system that the 3800 V6 Firebird has? If so, how can it be removed. Thanks

Any of the aftermarket lids will allow you to remove the silencer. If you use the stock lid, I think you have to block off the area that goes to the silencer... if that makes sense. If you look at the air lid/filter, the silencer(s) are on either side.

You can remove them but I feel that's more work then it's worth.
