Default y-pipe banging???

I have had no issues with my exhuast banging on a stright shot. Yesterday I took off fast making a right hand turn. I heard and felt banging up front. I thought my caliper had come lose but it is fine. So my question is does the headers banging feel anything like that and is this bad for my car? thanks for any info.

I think I have the same problem. When I stomp on it while turning theres a bang right under my foot. I put the car up on the lift and could see clearly were my 3inch offroad Y was hitting the floor board. Last time i droped my Y to do some O2 sensor work i stuck a bottle jack under were it was rubbing and put a little dimple in the floor board. It still hits from time to time. I have some 3point subframe connectors on the way, maybe they will take some felx out of the car and stop the banging Y???

I just had a similar problem with my y-pipe. It was hitting on the transmission crossmember so I took an angle grinder to it and cut off the parts that hit. But on the passenger floorboard I wrapped some high temp silicone around the pipe and I'm waiting to see how that works out.

My car bangs the Y-Pipe as well. Drivers side right at the curve going to the intermediate pipe. I first attributed the bang to a ripped or weak tranny mount. I recently found the fresh scratches under the car while changing the clutch. Go to Thunder Racing's web site and check out the exhaust accessories. There is a bracket that will eliminate the banging. I don't have one yet, but I will definitely need it. Hope this helps!

a poly trans mount fixed the problem for me, my old mount wasnt torn, its just the fact that the poly 1 is much tougher and also alot easier than the motor mounts to change, i havent tried to tackle putting in the motor mounts yet.
