Default Which plug wires?...

Ok I had the MSD's for maybe a 1000 miles. One was sitting on the header and cooked it. I pulled the boot off of the wire. Granted its my fault the wire died but I really do not like how the MSD's go on. There hard to get to click into place.... sometimes you dont know if they did or not and the awkward positions you have to get into to try and get them to seat isnt fun. Any other good replacement wire that doesnt cost a billion bucks?
Thanks,
Erik

After you put them on, if you have a close wire try to twist it where it goes to the coil pack, or you could use the factory heat shields.

The spark plug boot on the MSD wires is straight when you get them but they have a spot in the middle of them that is flexible so you can bend them to any angle you want to clear your headers. I have a set on my car and bent all of them were they don't come any where close to the headers.

I recently put the MSD wires on my car and they worked well. I just put a small amount of di-electric grease in the boot to make it slide on the plug easier. Worked well for me.

I didn't have any dielectric grease when I installed my MSD's, so I used a little spray silicone. I like them but I know what you mean about the engagement. It's tough to tell when they're fully in sometimes.

i had the msd wires didnt care for the fit....I went with the crane cams spiral core 8.5 mm wires...very heat resistent wires...one of them has been against the pass side header since the headers went on in feb....it still looks good...ive had them on and off several times as well

i like msd wires why dont you just wrape you headers with that heat wrap stuff so you dont get to hot under the hood and you will not melt any more wires that would be the best bet epp sells the header wrap it works great
