MAF and lid question

i have an 01 camaro... as far as the MAF goes, can i get any year from 98-02 and it work with my 01? im looking at a 98 MAF for my 01 right now and it looks to be 3 pin. also for the slp lid... i see that the 00-02 has a hose that comes out of it... where does this hose go to and do i need it? thanks!

why do you want to change the maf? the hose on the lid is for the air setup. i got the 98-99 lid for my 01 and threw the air system in the trash where it belongs.

im not changing maf... im buying parts for a 3.8 to ls1 swap and the engine/wiring harness im getting is an 01.

The hose is for the A.I.R. system (Emissions). Does Denton check emissions? visual? If not, don't worry about A.I.R..
