Here is where you can get the metal spun cats the cheapest. These are the short 3" cats but you can get them in 2.5" if that's what size you need:
http://www.eadperformance.com/catalo...3efdab3cc0e599

i ordered mine from them and they came in pretty quick. I did have to call and order though because their shopping cart wasn't working then. It may work fine now though. Also, my car is loud as hell even with them on!

actually, they did! Metal core cats weren't out when they did the test. Metal core flow better and don't muffle as much

i got this from another post about the cats you poste Jimmy

MAGNAFLOW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST METALLIC-CAT
59950 Series – Compact High-Flow Performance Catalyst (Center / Center)
High flowing compact packaging catalyst. 59959 was tested (1000 cfm range @ 28" of H2O) to flow ~570 CFM. The one piece spun body short neck design and 400 cell density metal composite core make for excellet flow and extreme durability. The compact series uses all the same features as the ultra high-flow but provides for SMALLEST packaging avialable in high performance cats.

570cfm is much higher than the 440cfm that the FLP cats got in that old article that 01formulata is raving about. also, all the magnaflow metal core cats are CARB certified.

here is a link to some advantages to metal core over ceramic:

Where did you put your cats? Do you have any pics too? And another thing, here is a stupid question, right now i have no cats and i only have 2 02 sensors. when you add cats, do i need another 2 02 sensors? I can not remember.

Or can i get cats, weld them in and be done. man it has been a long time since i ran a car with cats lol

Ideally you wanna put them as close to each header as possible. I've got a little bit of pipe before mine. No you don't need to run o2 sensors behind them. The only reason you would is if you wanted your car to throw a code if one of them crapped out. I imagine you've already got that stuff tuned out anyway.

here's mine:

The setup in the pic is the best way. I would have done it that way but the cats were very loose over my collectors so I think clamping them straight to my headers would have caused a bad leak. Also I couldn't even if I wanted to on my driver side since my header collector angles upward. I defnitely think these are the best cats for the price and EAD is a sponsor so you don't have to worry about ordering from them and never getting your product or having to wait a few months. Mine arrived within a week.

Yup, your car sounds wicked, especially the one where you step on it and your friend drops all those f-bombs. haha

Here is a clip of mine. You have to turn up the volume bc my camera sucks like that. The car is actually extremely loud at idle. Much much much louder than my cammed LT/ORY/GMMG trans am that I used to own.
