Default Custom exhaust...

So, I am switching to TD's I cant decide if I should go with the Texas-Speed X-pipe set up w/ bullits (but I dont want them dumped, so id get custom pipes from muffler to tips (under the axel)), or if I should just buy the mufflers separately and have custom mandrel bent exhaust made from headers back to tips (under the axel)... Does anyone know about how much it would cost for a custom exhaust set up like that at a local shop? That is the main reason I am asking...

I know that my local shop won't do the true dual set-up on camaros because it's too much of a PITA. Probably would cost quite a bit to have it done at a shop.

I'll be finally putting my TD together here in the next two weeks now that I got all of the parts I need. I've been watching for deals and saving up as I go. So far I've put in $660 and I'll have a 3" TD setup under the axle. I got LTs', O2 extensions, gaskets, stainless steel clamps, 3" mandrel bends, 3" x-pipe, straight 3" pipe, hangers, and 2 3" magnaflow 4x9's. I'll be putting it together myself with a chop saw and a mig with gas that my buddy has (saving major money there). So considering I'm paying less than a set of good SS LT's for a whole true dual kit with LT's, that's not bad. Finding the parts yourself, and then shopping around for the best price in labor will be your best bet.

If I do the custom it would be 120$ for mufflers, 100$ for cats, I spent 90$ on tips already... and then however much it would be for the shop to do the install after that. I am going to go with 2 1/2 inches in diameter. I am also going to have them make my cats and mufflers bolt to the exhaust for easy access but everything else will be welded. So I guess the price I would be hoping for is around 400$ for a shop to do it(after I give them parts). So it would be around 700$ total for me to do it... Which is damn close to what you spent. Do you think 400$ is in the area of what a shop would charge for that work?

That's actually a very good question. Normally I wouldn't think twice narrow your focus and just do it, but when you are in this case I would consider "other" options. You can chalk it up to market need and supply met.

Is there anyone out there who runs or works in a shop that could give me an estimate for the install I described in my previous posts?? I still haven't gotten a clear answer.
