problems wiring up a QTP e-cutout
Put the red wire in the fuse labeled "TCS bat" and put the fuse back in
Plugged the e-cutout motor in
Put the car in run position
Flipped the switch, and not a ******* thing happened.
Suggestions?
Cut the wires leading to the ashtray light
Put the black wire from the cutout switch on the black wire from the light
Put the red wire from the cutout switch on the gray wire from the light
Turned the car on
turned on the lights
flipped the switch, and not a thing happened.
any more suggestions?
you will need a volt meter (voltmeter = DMM)
please try to not use a analog meter,
when i ordered my cutout from QTP the switch was wired wrong, so i kept it and made them send me another for the trouble they casued me.
(sorry i dont have a extra switch for you bud, i gave it away)
(using a DMM)
check the battery supply, ignition on (to the circuit of your choice)
check power at switch (double checking wiring harness)
check ground (also double check wiring harness)
then trace the power through the switch (oprate switch when checking power and grounds)
this should lead you towards the right path.
when checking voltages "ALWAYS" check power supply
remember junk in means junk out, no workie workie savy.
