Default Hours labor for dropping and replacing oil pan?

How many hours labor would a dealership or other place charge to drop an oil pan? I'm getting charged five hours.

according to alldata it is 3.5 to replace the oil pan, they are probally adding in some odds and ends stuff just to make more money off of the job, like adding whatever else they have to pull to get the pan out but they shouldnt do that b/c the time alldata give you is to complete the job

ALLDATA is "F"ed up!!! I just went through this. Factory warranty time pays 5.5, Alldata is accurate about half the time, it's B.S.! A fare estimate, is warranty plus 40%, so anything less than about 7 hrs. labor is a deal.

Now compare that to what it would take a competent owner/mechanic to do the job in his garage! If you know your way around a toolbox and have a service manual (Chilton's, Haynes, etc.) YOU could do it in a couple of hours and save $100 an hour!

Don't be skeered!

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. How are you guys dropping (completely removing and installing) the oil pan in 4-5 hours?

But yeah, that's BS they're charing you for something that is their fault. I'd raise hell too.
