Replaced Alternator Help!

Default Replaced Alternator Help!

OK so yesterday my car stops charging the battery and it dies i jump it and limp it home off the battery, so i went and had the bettery tested and it was fine, SO then I replaced the alternator great now it charges and i can drive it but it just sits at 12.4 volts while driving and when at idle it drops slowly (like .1 volt every couple min) if i turn the A/C light and windshield wipers on it goes down to 11.5 volts. Is my problem that little black clip that plugs into the alternator what does that thing do? any other suggestions?

From what Ive read its called the excitor wire, it runs directly to the PCM, probably an orange wire depending on vehicle. From experience, I sheared that wire right out of the harness. So to fix it, I replaced the female pin in the harness with a new one (picked a box up from Pep Boys) soldered a new wire to the original one and connected everything up, works fine. So if this wire is not connected, youre definitely going to have a charging problem.

Yup it was that wire pulled it right outa the socket didn't even know... but, I soldered a lead wire back into the original socket and soldered the two wires together all in all preety easy to change it out although I did it in my driveway on my back and i feel like i've been doing crunches for an hour lol

Hey guys Im having a similar problem, I think my alt is charging but when Im idle the needle on the gauge drops to the yellow and also with the air on cold air stops coming out slowly, do you have any pictures of this wire ???
