Default Stupid exhaust question

I have not done a ton of research on this but here it is.

If you decide to go with LT's and want to remain emissions legal where do you put your cat's? On the manifold system the Y has them attached up high. I want to do LT's but don't want to fail emissions (Live in NY).

I'm sure theres a way i just don't know it.

Help is appreciated.

Moving the cats from the stock location is illegal so ANY kind of longtubes are illegal.

they are still in the Y pipe but placed much farther down. its illegal to mvoe your cats from their original positin period, but you should be ok. Most places (except **** cali) will pass you if you at least have cats, they wont know where they go stock most times anyhow

Now if you're only worried about making it 'look' legal then that's a different story.

More worried about making it look legal...most people as you said will not know that the car has been modified as long as they still see Cats.

Also want to be sure to be able to pass the blow test.

Depending on where you live many places will just look to see if you have cats on the car, and as long as it's not too obnoxiously loud you will pass. As far as placement of the cats, the closer they are to the engine the better. Most people with LT's and cats usually just have them installed as close to the collectors as possible. Hopefully someone can post up some pics to help you out though.
