pacesetter or flowtech long tubes????
I had to laugh when I read this. Why would you think headers have to be stepped to scavenge?
The entire POINT of longtube headers is scavenging. Longtube headers flow no better than shorty headers, but they make a lot more power because of the scavenging effect. ALL longtubes scavenge. That's the point.
And to sum this thread up let me just say this. Get the Pacesetters. Most people with Flowtechs are not gonna admit that there is a better header out there for the same money but the Pacesetter is much beter quality.
Pacesetter has a 3/8" thick flange and the Fowtech has a 1/4" flange. When you tighten the Flowtech header down it will pull the flange inwards at the bolts causing the flange to look like a wave. That probably doesnt hurt anything but if you can get another header with a 3/8 thick flange that wont bend then why get the Flowtechs?
As for rust, ALL headers that are not stainless are going to rust. How long before they rust depends on whether or not the car is driven in rain.
Pacesetters are among the easiest on the market to install.
No sound difference.
ORY is an off road y pipe (no cats).
I personally do not like the Borla catback. It is way overpriced and with an ORY I think it sounds bad.
The Pacesetter y pipe is a good y pipe and has good ground clearance. The merge is decent if you grind out the extra swag inside the pipe. Most all y pipes that do not use a 2 -1 collector will have that swag.
Coated Pacesetters and Pacesetter Y pipe are both money well spent. The only other option I would go for if on a budget is the stainless version that is offered on here. They will run the total price up by 150 bucks or so.
Either LT you are looking at give you about the same power. From what I've read, seen, and heard, the Pacesetters may be a better choice because of their flange design.
Regardless; good luck.
