Default Meziere Install Problem? Opinion Needed

A few weeks ago I installed a new Meziere EWP in my 2002 SS. Followed LS1 How To method and used the relay. If I let the car sit for a few days the battery is drained. Let it sit for a week to ten days, need a charge to start. I also have a SLP pulley and the battery is original, but didn't have any problems until after the EWP.

Any ideas?

dont use a relay... hook it up to the fuel pump hot wire when the key is in the on position....

that way when the ignition is on the ewp is on....

There's no reason to not have a relay, but the signal wire does need to come from the fuel pump hot wire (should be gray).

Do you have a multimeter? You might need to do some investigating to make sure it is your problem...for starters, leave it sitting for a few days with the fuse removed for the water pump. If it is still draining, you'll need to look elsewhere. Otherwise, it is a problem with your wiring.

I have seen someone else do this before. Same symptoms also. We just terminated into the box onto the ignition. never drained again. Lots of car audio noobz have this problem with the lead on wire lol!

So are you saying to not use the relay as well? I don't do a lot of electrical work and I thougth the purpose of the relay was to minimize blowing fuses. Losing a radio to a blown fuse is no comparison to losing the EWP because of a fuse. That was and still is my only fear with using an EWP is an electrical failure leading to overheating and screwing up the engine.

Appreciate the input, am I right or wrong in my thinking?

I personally think you should use a relay...it can be done. Mine is still alive and kicking with a relay, so I know it can be done.
