Default LS6 Polished Intake Manafold

I am new to LS1Tech. Getting ready to do some mods to my 02 SS Convertible, i.e. new heads & cam from Texas Speed & Performance.

Considering trying to find a Polished LS6 Intake Manafold.

Would like to hear the Pros & Cons and what & where to purchase?

Fire away.

It's plastic. You would have to buy a metal intake. If thats what you ment.

Yes, I understand the present LS6 intake is plastic. Yes, I would assume I would have to go metal. I quess my question perhaps should be the metal polished vs the plastic. Pros and Cons.

Plastic should weigh less.....metal might have heat soak issues. But most importantly, If your spending cash like that just to have looks, why not go with an intake that out performs the LS6 intake, wait maybe you thought of that. Try this out, paint the plastic LS6 intake, It will cost less in the end and they look pretty good.

I am new to all this. What intake would recommend that out performs the LS6? & where can I read up on the higher performance intakes??

The top of the line seems to be the F.A.S.T. Intake manifold... as seen here....

http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...d=122&pcid=177

problem is it's $700+ which is overpriced for the amount of HP gains if you ask me... it's not metal but can be painted...
.................................................. .................................................. ................
The LS6 Manifold can be had for about $325 usually... And has some good gains... not metal and can be painted...

You can find these in the For Sale section on here and other various places...
.................................................. .................................................. ................

Then there's the metal manifolds... Weiand, BBK, Lingenfelter etc...

These seem to have the same or higher gains than the LS6 are a little more expensive than the LS6 but are metal and can be polished...

Here's a little info I've got on the BBK Manifold... I'll be getting one of these soon hopefully...

Yes, that is a lot of money for not much gain. I already have the LS6 intake.

Thank you for the info.
