Default catch can issue

seems that the catch can I ordered is the size of a brick. I have no idea were to mount this thing since I still have the a/c in the car. it came with a bracket but no screws and a tube and two small hose clamps. Any advice on were I can mount this huge thing or tips to make this install quick and easy would be great.

Crap that thing is big, i have seen them on Ebay. But damn thats a pretty big catch can, i have no idea where to mount it. Had you mounted your battery in the rear, i would say in the stock location of the battery.

I think I have a friend that has one of these and remember it being up in the passenger side/front of the engine bay. I guess he must have relocated the battery if that is the case but not sure since I only saw the car once. I will have him take a look at the thread so he might provide some input.

I just installed my CC and it is from elite engineering.

I purchase one from Elite but sent it back. Did the valley cover mod and haven't had any problems so far.

That's a coolant catch can not an oil catch can. Looks like a nice piece, but it's a little on the big side. If you find a place to mount it you probably will never have to worry about draining it.

Maybe driver side next to the PCM, buy more lines to run it that far. That's where I have my AMW at.

for a pcv catch can, that thing is way too big. If you were running a race motor and a vacum pump you might want a bigger one like that, but that's even a bit big for that. That looks more like a coolant overflow tank.

I have the same can. You'll probably have to make your own bracket. thats what I did. I haven't installed it yet, but I did hold it where I wanted it, took the measurements & made a bracket.

Mine I didn't want on the head cause I got a MBA head plate, so it'll mount off the passanger side fender. The (2) fittings for the hoses face the front of the car & my bracket is kinda like a L shape to get it out away from the fender.

Hey I know that guy!!!

Mine is installed on the fender facing where the battery use to sit. The can is empty and you should extend the inlet down close to the bottom and then fill it with Green 3M pads or some SS wool to "filter" the oil out of the air passing though the can, other wise it might go in one side and out the other with out really doing anything.

PM me an email address if you want to see some pics of my install.
