Using GM header gaskets.....do I use RTV?

Using GM header gaskets.....do I use RTV? I think I have a bad header gasket, so I'm changing them. Should I use RTV? I did before, but it was messy and I've heard it messes up the 02 sensors. I just replaced my 02s and I don't want them to get messed up. Anybody know if I have to use it or not? Thanks in advance.

I've taken my exhaust off twice and reinstalled it both times with nothing other than just the gaskets and never had a problem.
