Running rich Installed a -02 LS1 in a G-body. The engine starts, but is running very rough, and is hardly idling. Strong gas smell from exhaust. Plugs get heavy sooted. Change plugs, and new plugs get sooted. New Granatelli fuelpump inside tank, Corvette fuel filter/regulator.
Can fuel pressure be too high? Can anyone please help me out?

Is the engine stock? If not what mods? I would probably start off by checking all my grounds for the engine/chasis. Do you have any way to look at engine data to see what the o2's, map, maf, STFT, LTFT are reading....Sounds like a sensor related issue maybe.

had that happen when i wired my 5.3 in my s10 and it was a 5 volt refrence wire problem where i had tied in the ect sensor but i was throwing a few codes. have you tried unpluging either the maf or the map sensors
