Default Anyone have the newest SLP lid?

My old one had a crack so they sent me the new design and it doesnt seem to seal as good at all. The tabs in the back are not as flat I dont think and I think its most likely leaking. Im going to have to try and make a gasket to seal it.....ugh. Im using an amsoil filter also and the older design seemed to seal great.

i have it and it fits nice and snug. but the only thing is in the back you can push down very little, like 1/32" to hit the filter gasket. im running a K&N filter. the fram filter i was gonna use would pop the clips off.

As long as the tabs snap down good and aren't falling off it should be fine. I haven't had a problem with mine.

Got my SLP lid about a mouth ago, fits tight as hell! If you use a K&N air filter be sure to use their supplied gasket.

You might have the older design depending on where you got it.

Dude, the original style SLP lid does the same thing. I have one. The best thing you could do is run the lid for a while so you can find out where it's rubbing, sand down the spot a bit, and repaint. If it does it again, repeat.

damn dude. when i bought my car it had the lid that said ls1 on it, and it was rubbing like a bitch against the hood. didnt even look right when i sanded it down cause it had been rubbing so long. got a carbon fiber lid, it rubbed also, but i adjusted the hood struts and its fine now. a buddy of mine with the slp lid said his rubbed too, but he just put electircal tape on the hood where it rubbed and said it was fine after that

Well my new one would appear to fit perfect no rubbing but compared to my old one its looser. I would bet its leaking I havnt tested that theory yet but im sure it is.
