where's cocoa puff when you need him? or is it creme puff? or maybe it's choco puff? whatever, you know, the real EXPERT on everything....i'm sure it's just a matter of time until he posts his pacesetter vs. qtp graph....lol

for the OP, i can tell you that i have ARH and wouldn't do anything different. the fitment is just as everyone claims and they went in without removing anything extra and there were no issues with k-members, etc. ground clearance is better than stock! no, i haven't compared them to qtp or kook's but i couldn't be happier with arh, just my .02...

QTP and Kooks both use the Grott design. Grotts were around before both of them.

Wow great thread so far, lol. I posted this yesterday when I got home from drill and just check it today when I got home. Didn't really expect to much from anyone, boy was I wrong. Started a little debate about the whole who makes who and yadda yadda yadda.

Yea I guess I'm down between ARH and Kooks now, since QTP doesn't offer 1 7/8" x 3" anymore. Either way I'm sure I'll be happy which ever way I decide to go with.

Kooks all the way. the last 2 sets of QTP's i instaleld we had ot clearance the stock k-member to get them to fit without banging at idle. there advise was to change ther motormounts..... after changing them it still banged. We bolted a used set of kooks up with no issue. I have had MAC,QTP,JET HOT, SLP and KOOKS on my car and the Kooks are by far the best design and have the best fit and finish! they actually take the time to grind any bumps or weld spots on the inside of the primary unlike some of the other companies!

or could it be like gm designing the T/A and the camaro? both sister cars but one performs a tad better?

im not trying to talk crap on anyone or cause trouble but i think he could be right, i mean its not uncommon that companies do this. it just gives them a lil advantage over the market having 2 vs 1 in the same market =) but thats just my .02

I have the QTPs and had a problem with the K-member. I fixed it; no big deal. The Y-pipe is a pain though (mostly because of the SLP SFCs though) but has a nice merge collector. I've had non-HVMC QTPs on the car (without one bit of clearance problems) and MACs (what a PITA in install and remove) and have to admit after hearing about the nice little finishing touches (like grinding and cleaning up) makes the ARHs sound more appealling. Attention to detail, like that, IMHO makes a product that is very appealing to an enthusiast.

I don't regret my QTPs but with other stainless LTs out there it would definately make the decision a little tougher.

Good luck.

but kooks wouldnt have 2 headers on the market. qtp isnt going to pay squat for them to "make" them. otherwise they loose their profit share. this isnt an item that u sell 1k units a week where as it would be marginally benificial. is it possible that it has been done. yes. in this case. im still saying no. if kooks designed the qtp's then they would fit identical. if anyone has ever installed both or laid them on the ground at the same time next to each other the only thing that is the same on then is the flange. pacesetters flange looks the same too so maybe kooks makes them? and pontiac and chevy are both part of gm. same company. diff brand name. totally diff. it wouldnt be in good buisness for kooks to make a comparable and or better product then theirs and give it to someone else to sell. if they made a product a little lower on the scale then yes i could see it being benificial. regardless argue as u will but both qtp and kooks have publicly denied this.

you asked, I told... don't call it arrogant when you ask for an answer

you sound like you work for them or something

besides... I never said anything like their headers were crap! I've actually commended them very much on the quality and fit... Your acting like I'm bashing where i'm not...

Someone asked a question so I gave an answer... where as you just wanna seem to bitch and moan so as everyone knows your right when I have yet to see any proof otherwise... Not that I have given any proof, but I seem to have provided a lot more info than your hear say...

**** excuse me for making a comment... over something I personally was involved in...

AR's are the best, but you have to work at it to get them to shine real good. The intstall is stupid easy. All you have to do is cut off the casting tab on the driver's side. There are no vibrations or Y pipe issues to worry about. They also make great power- at least from what I can tell from the SOP. Great ground clearance too.
