which headers perform best?!?!

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
the QTP/kooks will make the most power. hookers are best bang for your buck.
Macs are great for midlengths

I went though the decision process the last few months, and am going to be getting Hookers most likey.

nothing is wrong with macs but you may gain a little power with long tubes such as pacesetters that are roughly the same price. there is not a lot of data on pacesetter dyno numbers though

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
I found my Jet-Hot's cheaper than most places offer the Hookers at LM Performance. Better quality and come with the famous Jet-Hot coating that allot of people send off their headers to have coated. Almost everything in my sig came from LM. I'm happy

When i first started visiting this board i was told that an A4 w/3.42 is not a good working combination for our cars.I later found out that was a line of crap.It took a year and a half to realize it wasn't true.
I'm with you on this one u8dusst.

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
I just ordered a set of the coated hookers to replace my SLP's, after doing extensive searching on these boards it seems that alot of people have had real good results with this header dyno wise, Total for the y pipe and the headers I think I came out around 300 bucks cheaper than the Kooks. Both Kooks and hookers have had good results so I would say if you have 300 extra dollars get the Kooks if not get the Hookers.

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
I just agonized over this decision myself. The end result? $511 for the Jet-Hot (hooker clone's, supposedly better though) LT's shipped to my door. Should be here early next week IMHO, the best bang for your buck longtubes there are unless you get uncoated hookers. Best bang for your buck overal is DEFINATELY the uncoated Macs. (well, the Macs are HTS coated but it's crap, nothing beats a Jet-hot sterling silver coating :O))

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
I got the jet hot lt headers and they look awesome, mines was $560 shipped to my door here in HAWAII thats dirty cheap compared to hookers $629 plus $105 shipping. and I read in the forum couple of months ago this guy had picks of his hookers rusting so he replaced it with jet hots! i havent installed mines yet cause still deciding on wat mufflers to get for my x pipe!

Re: which headers perform best?!?!
i just got done installing my Jet-Hot LT's this weekend. the install went very well. The LT's fit great. I also did a poly motor mount on the driver's side along with a poly tranny mount at the same time and I have no banging on my k-member that others talk about.
The only problem that I have with them is that the y-pipe did not fit too well. But after a little tweaking it fits fine now. No banging, rattling, or leaking.
Over all, I am pretty happy. And the low price was a big bonus. I would definitely do it over again.
Now I just need to get back to the track to see what kind of improvements I see.
