Default Intake coolant lines

Switching to an LS6 intake soon. Are there any pros or cons to using the LS1 lines and grinding down the bottom of the intake vs. using the LS6 style coolant lines and plugging the back ones?

The way I see it some of the pros are saving some money by using the LS1 lines and also I can install my intake this weekend instead of ordering the LS6 style lines and waiting for shipping.

The cons are hacking up the bottom of the LS6 intake I just bought.

Anything else I'm not thinking of?

I'd just wait for the LS6 lines and do it the right way.

I know I didn't want to hack up my LS6 intake when I had it.

If you don't feel comfortable chopping up your intake then don't. It only takes one little slip and you just **** canned a $300 intake. Texas Speed has the stuff you need for $45

Thats prolly the route I'll end up taking. I'd feel more comfortable that way. It's just this weekend was the perfect time to swap it. Might just wait till I put the car away for the winter to swap it out.

dont hack the intake like stated above but if you just run one coolant line up front and run the block off plates in the back, your #7 cylinder will not be getting any coolant to it. That was my mistake until I realized this. Some people have "thought" it to cause problems to their engine but many run it just fine including myself. Once I go in for the cam swap tho, I will be swapping out the back plugs for another LS6 font coolant line in the back for peace of mind. So best route, run two LS6 coolant lines instead of the block offs in the back.

I flattened out the lines with a deadblow hammer because I am lazy. Still works. FAST went on with no problems. I wouldn't suggest this route to someone though. Just sharing my experience. However I do want the LS6 valley cover. I will do the proper lines after that PCV conversion.
