The Magnaflow flows the best and is stainless but the tips kinda look weird to me, I almost got the magnaflow but I liked the look of the hooker tips better, Also the hooker comes in right behind the magnaflow flo wise, Obviously the Loudmouth flows better than all of the catbacks, there was a post awhile back that had all the flow #'s of the catbacks , might be worth you finding it if you have time.

Hooker is the low price. I was going to get one but everyone was out of stock so I got the RT Catback and I am happy with it. Sound and performance is good.

The cheapest route is to remove the catback and run off the ypipe open. It will be loud like a cutout. As long as you have cats it should be quiet enough around the cops. If you want to quiet it down some, you can add a dynomax bullet for $40. These set ups are the cheapest, lightest, and the most hp of any catback. The biggest drawback is noise and the exhaust exiting underneath the car.

Another option is to make a custom catback using a 3" dynomax ipipe and over the axle pipe. Check the link for more info. http://www.dynomax.com/documents/pas...ral_motors.pdf

The pipes are available from summit for $100. Then you can pick out a muffler of your choice. This catback will cost less than $200. If you dont mind having a single tip on the drivers side, its a good way to go.

As a side note...the LM resonator hangs way too low and looks like ***.
That's funny...mine doesn't. And I think it sounds awesome. If you want volume, why stop halfway? If it's too loud, you're too old (at least that's what I've heard)

I agree. Mine doesn't hang too low. In fact, you have to really look just to see it the Y-pipe is all that you might be able to see, as usual. And I do LOVE the sound of my loudmouth. I even have an A4 with the factory "performance" 3.23 gears and the drone is totally and completely not a problem for me or my passengers at all. It sounds great, especially >3k and it has a nice, deap rumble when cruising at low speeds and low throttle under 2k rpm.
Loudmouth ROCKS! Can't wait to get Hooker LT/Carsound cats next month

It's really a matter of preference.

There are a number of choices in the under $400 range and all of them will have good or bad points depending upon who owns them.

With that said, I have the LoudMouth and I really like it. It sounds great, gave me a some good increased SOTP performance, it looks good and it was cheap. I have no problems with ground clearance and the sound is great even though I have an automatic.

My vote goes for the Loudmouth.

Aiighty y'all - I've got my three picked out: 1. Loudmouth for about 310 shipped, Hooker for 292, magnaflow for 350. Anybody know some HP ratings for them?

My .02...
The Hooker gets the best posts from what I have seen, and the price is right.
The LM is okay, but if you ever decide to run without cats, and worse yet get headers, most folks start to hate them.
The Magnaflow sounds like the Hooker to me, but costs alot more.

Now to complicate things...
The stock exhaust is 2.75" mandrel bent stainless. Most cat-backs charge you a ton more $$$, and yet the pipe is only .25" larger. It's all marketing hype, what they don't want you to know is that just getting the muffler gives you the same power increase for much less, and of course you get the sound you want too.
Just a thought.

i just raced my stock ws6 against a 2002 z28 with a loudmouth exhaust. let me tell you all who ever says the loudmouth is too loud is full of it. with stock cats and manifolds the exhaust sounds great

that makes me insist that you hear this exhaust before you buy anything!!!

i will be buying one very soon
