Where are the Check Vavles?
A couple of other threads say if you have a leak in the gaskets for the AIR system then it will burn up the check vavles. On the passenger side there wasn't even a gasket. Just black sut. I haven't checked the other side yet.
I put a gasket in, but I'm still getting slight pinging at 4000 and up. It's a little better then it was though.
Where are these check valves at? Are there 2? And do you think it will help the pinging at WOT.
P.S. I still have CATs so I'm not going to ditch the AIR System!

This will help explain...

Check valve is very easy to find. Start at the manifold where the AIR tube connects. Follow the AIR tube up and towards the firewall. About halfway, there will be a black/dark grey cone looking thing that is maybe about 2.5"-3.5" diameter at the largest part. This is the check valve assembly. To replace it, simply get a screw driver and pry open the clamp in back of the check valve that connects to the rubber tube coming from the firewall. For the front, I think you just get some pliers or a wrench and un bolt it. Very easy to access and remove. Good luck
