Wtf Why Does anyone know the reason these are here? I guess theyre air silencers??? The only time ive seen ls1's without them are when there is an aftermarket lid, but can i just remove it with the stock one? heres what i mean
this question gets asked a good bit and the answer more or less is no.
the advantage af getting an aftermarket lid is more than just getting rid of hte silencers, you get rid of the ribs under the lid, and the oval to circular transition is gone too.
and getting a lid isnt THAT big of an invstment, little less then $100 shipped from a bunch of sponsors.

I agree with these guys. Get a lid, it's one of the best bangs for the buck, and it looks nice as well.
To answer your question though, yes, it's just a silencer, and I'm sure you could rig up something to delete it, but, what's the point when you can buy a lid that will look AND perform better in the end.
