2" vs. 1 7/8" headers for 427???
2" vs. 1 7/8" headers for 427??? due to the recent abundance of 2" headers in this section (yes, i consider two to be an abundance because that's more than twice as many as before...2>2x0) i was wondering how much improvement a 2" header would be over a 1 7/8" header on a 427.
intake specs:
vengeance ported fast 90/90 (NW tb)
AFR 225's
243/249 .629/.629 112+2 custom grind cam
rest of the exhaust:
3" or 3 1/2" piping (depending on header size, actually)
metal matrix cats
x-pipe
doug's cutouts (i think paying $600 for cutout is AWESOME lol...SYKE!!
)
magnaflow straight-thrus
over the 12-bolt and out the back door
...
whadaya think??? worth the extra coin? or stick to the 1 7/8"???

You may see a couple up top if you are talking straight N/A.
If you spray a healthy shot and that amount of increase has the potential to increase more.
IMO, would not be worth the extra $$$$. You may see things differently..

kooks recomadation With your cam specs and lobe sep. I would suggest our 1 7/8 stepped to 2" header. Katech and gm performance have seen great gains with this header on there 427 packages with similar modifacations.
