Default Exhaust heating my frame

I just recently got a single cut out about a foot after the exhaust goes from two to one (on a 98 T/A) and i had it put in at a fairly level angle to prevent scraping. i noticed that after a 20 minute trip or so wiht the cutout open the frame rail that is about a foot away from the opening is hot to the touch. is this a threat to the safety or functioning of my car? should i get turned down a little or should i just not bother?

Id turn it down, and honestly recommend the cut out to be put further down, i do mine when I used cut outs pass the door and under the rear seats, keeps the heat and noise down.

I dont think its going to start a fire but in my opinion it will be a great annoyance.

Dont worry about it, it takes a hell of a lot more heat than you could produce that far back in the exhaust stream to fatigue the unitized steel rails.
