I was driving the other day and noticed my battery gauge is showing low voltage, while trying to make it home the gauge continues to go lower and everything is going out(radio, lights, Ect... My battery had died the other day cuz I left my fans on all night. Purchased new battery(drained in less than 6 miles, borrowed an alternator and gauge and electrical system are back to normal, but now the car surges and hesitates at WOT. Could it be that the PCM needs to relearn or what?

 

Make sure your belt is not slipping and also that all your spark plug wires are ok. Maybe you should pull the power compltetely to the pcm and then do the idle relearn to make sure that it is ok. Do you hear any funny noises or just surging? Did anything else happen recently that you did not mention?

 

Belts o.k. dooublechecked that. I'll check the plugs tomorrow. Idle is fine ,it's when I start to take off is where you notice the surging. The surging and choking all started when the voltage started going down. No noises. I started her up again and noticed that the voltage is at about 12 1/2. Maybe my battery isn't fully charged. More advise PLEASE!!
