Default Gmmg

Does GMMG exhaust have the same problem with higher rpm raspiness like the loudmouth does when you have headers, ory and no cats. I did go to LS1 Sounds but I couldn't really tell a difference from the loudmouth and I know the loudmouth gets really raspy cause that's what I had before I swapped the resonator for a spiral flow bullet but that made my car a lot quieter and that's not what I'm looking for. I haven't heard GMMG in person so I was wondering what you guys think.

yes it does. its more in the mid range rpms that you will get the raspiness. bear in mind, the gmmg will sound 10 times better, simply because it is loud, while maintaining some hint of personality, compared to the loudmouth, which is just loud and annoying. i personally wouldnt go with the gmmg if i were running an ory simply cuz of the raspiness. there are very few catbacks that sound good with ory. i would assume gmmg with a catted y pipe would sound like sex

If you have a catted y pipe then there is not a rasp to worry about. There is some resonance at like 1700-1800 but it is such an odd rpm that you are rarely there. I run mine with no cats and it is still awsome. At wide open it is the best sounding exhaust in my opinion. if you are really worried about it get the corsa. But do not expect it to be as quiet as the stock.

Yes, it certainly is a little raspy, and more pronounced with headers. The first video below is the catback only, the second is ARH headers w/ cats + GMMG.

All cat backs are going to sound raspy without cats.

I don't have any recommendations for you, I haven't had experience with too many in person. Other options might be Borla or Corsa????

Keep checking out LS1sounds, youtube, streetfire.net, etc.

The only way to truly know is to listen in person, so consider looking for locals. Fquick has a radial search function, and there are a lot of F-cars on there.

true duals would give you a very loud but good sound

if ur stickin w/ a catback i would say go w/ the hooker cat back and then a cutout, so u have a very nice sound thats not all that loud, then you can still be loud when you want

I would suggest looking into true duals.

All cat backs with an ORY will rasp to some extent. you can alleviate some of the rasp of an ORY with a flowmaster merge at the Y or put cats on it and the rasp will go away but really.... True Duals would be the only no cats setup that would have no rasp.

There is a very simple way to cure the rasp..

An 18" Bullet muffer in the intermediate pipe and voila..

GMMG sounds good. I chose a Magnaflow. Have LT's, ORY and the MF. It is a great sound to me, so that is my recommendation. A little rasp, but it is the right sound for me.......

Rasp was like a jackhammer with ORY on my GMMG. I couldn't stand it for a day. It took cats, Flowmaster merge, Powerpack in the I, and resonator tips to completely eliminate it. Sounds awesome now.

If I was you I would go with a catted Y. You will loose like 5 rwhp with some good high flowing cats. In my opinion is worth to take that hit than to have a car that doesnt sound right. After all, You paid alot of cash for a GMMG to not have it sound right.... kinda pointless.
