x-pipe clarification
x-pipe clarification the ads for some x pipes talk about the "center core" size of x inches. what does that mean?
i do not want a 3" x pipe that merges into basically a 4 inch pipe at the x. it would seem that the less the pipes merge the better so as not to lose any "flow". is that the case?

back to my original question. 1) what does center core mean and 2) can anybody with the magnaflow x pipe tell me how narrow the x merge gets. thanks.

I assume that you are talking bout the cross section area at the X. If you have two 3in pipes with a 90 degree bends in each of them, connected at the middle, unless the adjoining pipes are cut exactly halfway (they usually aren't) then it's gonna be bigger in the middle. I've never measured any of them so I can't tell you what they are. The way an X pipe works, I wouldn't worry about restriction. You will be fine with any of the 3 inchers.
