Default running hotter plugs?

I had a set of ngk iridium tr55 in my car and I pulled one the other day and the thing reeked of fuel. I'm talking 5 feet away you can smell this thing.. so i was wondering if I put in some ngk tr4 which are one heat range hotter if it would burn the gas that is obviously not being burned with the stock heat range plug. The car is naturally asperated so I know I don't need colder ones soo... any input would be great.

NGK works their part numbers backwards, the lower the number the hotter the plug. That's why all the nitrous guys run the colder plugs TR6's

No. Don't go changing things you don't understand. Bad things happen. I've done some stupid **** in the past, so take my advice to heart.
