Default header clearence

i just did a qtp header install and it dsn't rub anywhere untill the engine torqes like when you start to give it gas then i vibrates alittle and goes away. any ideas on how to get better clearece, i was thinking about loosening all the header bolts and putting a shim where i might be rubbing and torqe the bolts back, but im not sure if i take the shims out will the header spring back to where it was. any ideas would be great
