how will i know if blew a head gasket ???
i installed my lt's and ory 3 weeks ago but i didnt buy 02 sims or get a tune so my service engine light been on and my car has been running real good and hard well today i was on the free way going about 70 mph in 6 th gear and my ses light started flashing didnt really think anything of it. well i got home and parked it for like 2 hours and then when i was going to the store it started back fireing really bad and white somke was coming out of my tail pipes and when i give it gas it fills like my whole car shakes.......can somone tell me what this can be????
can it be that i just need a tune
or can it be that one of my o2 sensors is not working and making it run rich/lean
or can it just be that i blew a head gasket

flashing SES is a bad misfire. probably tune related due to the lack of tuning after the new modifications. You know you have to tune out the o2's or simulate. probably will foul plugs and cause all kinds of other issues if you continue to run the car with a bad tune. I really doubt you have a head gasket issue. Have you noticed the coolant level in the overflow going up or down outside of it's normal range in adition to what the others mentioned?

If you are getting white smoke it might be a head gasket. Check your coolant level and oil level every day for 2 weeks. If your coolant keeps getting lower and your oil gets fuller and milky then you have a head gasket problem.

Check your plugwires. May have unclicked or melted one on the LT. And I had flashing SES's that were primary O2 related. Check for melted/drug on the road O2 wires. Ive been through all of that.

The white smoke and the backfiring are most likely from unburnt fuel. I cannot understand why you would not fix what you know is wrong first (tuning).
In regards to the headgaskets. The coolant temp tells you nothing in this case. The coolant level in the overflow will go up if you are pushing gas from the cylinders into the water jackets, this is commonly refered to as pushing water. The level will also go down, the coolant could go into the oil or be pulled in the cylinders during the intake stroke and pushed out the exhaust.

After headers you are probably running rich, and your plugs might have gotten fouled out. Get a tune and then change your plugs, or vice versa. just do both of those as soon as you can.
