You will have to remove the oil filter to get the driver side on without removing the steering shaft. Might aswell do a oil change while your at it.

Mr. Harris,

Sometimes F-Bodies with headers have this issue. We've done several cars even with stock mounts that haven't had any issues. I just spoke to Saso and he was under the impression that everything was good when you picked the vehicle up. He said he went for a ride with you and there was no issues. We're willing to do whatever it takes to make things right.

Livernois, do y'all suggest to get the motor motor mounts when you go to install LTs?

We've installed the mounts on some cars and still had them hit. There just isn't a lot of room and there's always a chance with the large tubing that they will hit.

How much are a set of motor mounts? Is there any comfort differences with the polys in while driving?

The biggest issue I usually hear about is not having the car high enough to get the headers slipped in from underneath. I think that the car needs to be a good 24" off the ground for long tubes to go in.
Also, if you ever intend to do polyurethane motor mounts, it will be mcuh easier with the headers out of the way. It is still a difficult job, though. I changed them on my 99 Z-28 and the stock mounts were totally trashed.

Depending on mileage, your stock mounts should be fine. My friend's 02 when he had it had ~45k miles and his QTP **** never banged once. My car had 100k at the time of the install and **** was banging like hell.

IMHO, get that car really high. MAKE SURE TO SAFELY SUPPORT THE CAR ON JACK STANDS!!! An SUV jack may be helpful in getting the car high enough. A 10mm gear wrench will be your best friend. Spray penetrent on all the manifold and Y-pipe bolts/studs/nuts. Take your time running the bolts back into the heads and use anti-seize. Get a dyno tune.

I think you'll feel a difference and probably pick-up a good 20+ RWHP. You'll love the sound!

Have fun!!!

Well...just finished installing the headers yeasterday. They were a pain in the *** to install but definitly worth it in the end. I did the MSD/NGK at the same time as my headers also. I am going to get the duals welded up and the car tuned come monday. I will post a sound clip as soon as i get the duals installed.
