Default Whats better?

I searched.
Whats better an LS6 valley cover or a universal catch can?
I just pulled my intake off and found a puddle of oil in the bellows (stock one) and the intake manifold and ports in the head coated with oil.
Paper filter BTW.

The LS6 is a good step in the right direction, it is a better system than the LS1(valve cover setup). A Catch Can would finish off a complete system to ensure that as little oil as possible does not make its way into the intake.

Thanks for the reply.
The dealer wants $98 for just the valley cover so forget that, I just had the intake off to change knock sensors and just stumbled accross this mod.
Funny thing is, my car never looses any oil between changes. The last oil change was 4500 miles ago with Pennsoil Platinum, I went on a 1300 mile trip out of state and 1300 miles back, during that trip I've gone over 100 mph for extended lengths of time still with no oil loss.
I guess I'll just put a good catch can on it.

If you don't have a oil lost problem. then Yeah, a good catch can should be good enough.

In case you ever decide to do it you can get it for a good price from SDPC (sponsor): http://www.sdparts.com/product/12568002/COVER.aspx

I think the catch can is good enough as well.

Yea, I really would rather have the cover and read about the low cost.
The dealer could have had it next day but that fact that they're charging that much more just makes me not want to give them the bussiness.
Same with the knock sensors being $15 more a piece for the same part# and the intake gasket set being $50 more than the one I got.

I installed the LS6 valley cover. Cutting the block to clear it makes a big mess of aluminum shavings no matter how careful you are. If I had it to do over again I would just do a catch can.

Here's a write up if you haven't seen it:
