Cats Gone Bad The car is a 2000 z28 with 28k miles and I have a NASTY rattle underneath the car. I took it up to my exhaust shop and they put it up on the lift and when we shook the cats they were rattling like hell! I guess the honeycomb material inside has broken up inside the cats.....but how is this possible on a car that is 3 years old?! I'm pretty sure GM warranties the cats for 8 yrs/80k miles so I will be taking it to chevy within the next couple of days to see what they have to say. Anyone ever have this problem with their cats?

Re: Cats Gone Bad I think I have the same problem. My car fell off the ramps and then when I took it out I think it broke. I don't hear any rattling but it sounds different and seems to have lost power. My brother broke one also, could just be the bumpy roads out here. I never thought about taking it to a dealer, probably just get a new y-pipe.
