Building My SS
Building My SS Sorry for starting off wrong everyone. My car is a 00 SS M6. The car is completely stock. I am just looking for a fast daily driver. I drove my friends gen. 4 Viper and it has me wanting more. What do you all suggest as far as a set of Heads and Cam. I want the car to run smooth and not have any stalling issues. My budget is around 4k maybe a little more. I read the stickies up top, but it didn't help me get y'alls opinion. What is the deal with the 6.0L heads on the LS1's, I have never heard of that.
As far as the car running smooth that will be in the tune and on the 6.0L heads they are like the 243 LS6 heads but will lower the compression in the motor because they come with bigger combusion chamber which will loss horsepower and more and likely will hurt performance unless you are force fed (supercharged or turbocharged) and that is the only way I would run them. I would buy the Trick Flow LS1 heads if I was going aftermarket because I have seen some good results on the dyno with them.

w/ a 4k budget ur limiting urself. id either start off with bolt ons or save up. it adds up really quick.

thats $2875 of things u will need for a heads an cam set up that most dont account for. and thats leaving u with the glass like 10 bolt w/ stock gears and thats doing all the labor urself.

yeah you might want to consider a 12bolt. you could save some money by porting the tb yourself, buying the stainless steel headers+y on here for 550 and getting an electric exhuast cutout.
