Hey sswtoss did you get the headers that come with the y pipe or with out? If you got just the headers what y pipe did you use?

at the time i got the headers (july '06) no one knew what brand ORY would fit (also, they werent sold with the y-pipe as a package). i ended up buying a 2-piece Pacesetter ORY and had the shop modify it to fit...

Black2002WS6,

Have you thought about making thirdgen swap headers? I guess there's only a few options right now and they are really expensive. Personally I don't know much about them. Just a thought.

finally got my headers installed, just like about half the people who buy them, the collector made y-pipe fitment impossible. i had to take it to a reputable shop who had to spend 3 hours fixing the mess, costing me around $250. i love the sound and quality but for the amount of money i put into them i could have bought QTP's. just wasnt the deal i was expecting.

I gotta agree with this. I just got done with my "blue tarp" header install and could tell from the start the driver side collector angle wasn't gonna fly. Took the header off and ran it down to the muffler shop. Told him to cut it and bend the collector so it maintained the exact direction of the bottom primary. 25 bucks and it fit like a glove. Had to notch the K-member slightly but other than that, these things install very easily. Didn't even take the plugs out. Reused stock bolts and gaskets. Borla catback aligned perfectly.

I spent $340 shipped from a guy on ebay who was wanting to put them on a LS1 transplant car...280Z I think. He even recycled the infamous blue tarp pics. Another 60 for better clamps and extensions (thanks WS6 Store) and I have full stainless exhaust for a hell of a price.

For those wanting stainless, I would highly recommend this setup. Just get the driver side collector angle straightened before you even touch a wrench.

does anyone have a pic of the measurement of the merge collector, im stumped because i ended up with these when i got my car and for some reason i cant figure out if these are the XS headers or if i got headers that i cant use, my merge collector looked smaller than 3in when i looked at them and when i measured them out i got 2 3/4 in, so im hoping i measured wrong which there's a first for everything

That would be the best thing to do.
I can tell you in an instant with a picture if there the old XS header or not by seeing them
