Ordered some Pacesetter LT's today...what to expect?
awesome...so anybody have a ballpark time estimate on how long it took? Could someone remember exactly what special tools are needed? I have regular sockets, wrencehes, ratcheting wrenches...I could always borrow some snapon stuff from friends...I just want to have all my ducks in a row because I am doing this in my Dad's garage where it is nice and warm and getting it in and out is important because he is moving some cars out to make room...its freezing here...Thanks to everyone!
If you have a friend, and this is your first install, 6 hours is a *LEGIT* estimate from jack up to jack down. People will say "I can do it in 2 hours" but I those are usually people who have the EXACT right set of tools and have done this before.
If you ever thought about doing motor mounts I have read this is a good time to do them as well. It only adds about 30 minutes to the install time if you do them with the manifolds out but could take hours with the manifolds in. I have also read that if you dont put some poly mounts in you could have problems with the LT's hitting the bottom of the car when the motor torques and it makes an annoying banging noise. Just something to do some research on and think about.
