putting a pulley on is a pita...but anyway you are going to get a lot of mixed reviews of ppl liking asp, slp, powerbond, ect ect....so search it out on here and see what you like

they are all about the same, just make sure you get one that has a higher ridge on the outside to help to not throw the belt off.

It is also not a bad idea to get a tensioner if you are planning on spinning very high.

sorry to hijack this thread, but I'm in the same boat and about to buy a pulley.I've been looking at the SLP.I was just wondering if there were any charging issues with this pulley.Low voltage, dim lights etc. What kind of gains did you see? Back when i had a 5.0 mustang I added pullies and at a red light the dash would dim and the voltage would drop way low to a point where i had to put one foot on the brake while pressing the gas to get the volts back up and the dash and head lights to go brighter. My biggest concern is that i would kill the battery if at a stop light long enough. Are these issues still there with the pulley swap in an F body?

naa just raise the idle speed to about 900rpm
I have a powerbond which has a highridge and have never had any dimming, throwing of belts or anthing of that nature. Love it!
And not as expensive as the SLP.
Just my o2 cents.

ASP and the SLP/Powerbond will net you the same power gains. Whichever you can find cheaper.

Powerbond makes SLP's pulleys. They are the same thing.

I would go with "Powerbond". heres why.. seems peeps with ASP at one time or other had belt come off even if it did one time only, that one time could be at a bad timing. I currently have a SLP (2yrs) have not had the belt come off. I purchased it cause of taller outside lip, to prevent belt coming off. seems some peeps are saying here on this forum that Powerbond looks just like SLP's pully and cheaper price too. if thats the case then Powerbond it is. do some research on the Powerbond pully if it is the same as SLP then go for it.....

I know that ,as my post originally stated I was going with an SLP,and not "which one should I get". I think you have me confused with the guy that originally posted this thread. He wanted to know which one to get. I just wanted to know if there were charging issues with pulleys on an f bod in general

You might as well ask "what's the best hose clamp" as you'll get the same kind of responses...
