its because your exhaust is being dumped before your cats. After the cats it won't smell the same.

the cut out is after the cats at the rear right under the rear pass seat. so its still exiting after the cats.

Is it a stainless steel cutout? If it is, it'll probably stink for 50-100 miles. The steel has to burn the coating off the surface.

When I put the stainless steel headers on my car. the exhaust smoked out horrible smelling white smoke for the first 100 miles or so. After the headers started turning golden, it all went away. Check it out:

That's the startup right after the headers went on. Notice all the white smoke 7 seconds before the video ends when it's started back up. The smell will probably go away in time.

Either that or your cats are going bad and you can smell it now because the exhaust is exiting closer to your window...but I'd bank on the cutout breaking in.

rotten egg smells is a sign of your cats being clogged.

I always thought that the rotten egg smell was because it was rich and the cats couldn't do their job. Either way, it has something to do with the cats.
