ARH are favorite for best quality, XS or whatever they are called now are best for budget branded, and QTPS are my favorite for the mix between the two. Notice they are all stainless

If I had to do it again I would not change a thing. Get the QTP's.

American Racing Heades makes the best header and y pipe on the market in my opinion... and I've researched this forum and others for hours... and I've talked to all the manufacturers on the phone several times each... and I've talked to shops that have installed each...

So, my ARH headers and catted y pipe are on the way to me now...

I can't wait.

Good luck.

I will be getting the QTP headers very soon (finally got my tax return) and I chose the QTPs for sheer quality. Ive compared the Kooks (which are my second choice) to the QTP's at my friends shop, both out of the box, side by side and the QTP's just seem to be that much better. The high velocity merge collector that they offer is another bonus as well. IMO though, wheather they are SLP's, QTP's. Kooks, ARH, etc, you cant go wrong as long as they are stainless and quality made.

You ARH voters, thanks for showing some support. We appreciate it. Looking at the poll it seems we've made quite an impression considering ARH LS1 systems have only been available a short time.

I have and voted Hooker...I personally cant justify spending over $1,000 for welded pipe unless it protects me when rolling over...

You need to also keep in mind y pipes and what they're made of. If money weren't an object for me, I would buy the ARH's. All stainless, including the Y. The problem I've had with QTP, while a great design and build, they don't offer a stainless y. I find that to kind of defeat the purpose of buying stainless headers. I'm hoping someone will make one that fits my QTP's in stainless. If QTP offered a stainless y, they'd be the same price as ARH or Kooks.

I have qtp and didn't bother with the y-pipe. All I did was get a custom one made (stainless) for little or nothing.

I personally like Kooks on the high end and Jet Hot on the low end. The Kooks fit great and are a proven winner. The Jet Hot's come with a warranty, and an option for catted mids...which Pacesetter does not.

We sell a bunch of different headers here-

Being that you're building your car on the "mild" side I would go with the Pacesetters for the cost. Put that extra money towards other mods like your LS6 intake. Just my 2 cents

i have pacesetters on my car right now but i really liked the MAC midlengths for a bolt on car. the torque felt great for daily driving, and light footing it from a redlight was easy because you still felt like you had some get up and go from all the torque and it actually improved my mileage. i had friends who would dyno 10hp~15hp higher than my car with long tubes and i would still be door to door with them through all the gears

i vote MAC but im sure youll go with long tubes because the dyno higher and everyone thinks they make your car "faster". i just like the added torque better for a daily driver, gives more of a kick in the pants than long tubes

The Pacesetters on my car are doing alright, but I like my brother's Dynatechs. It's really easy to remove and reinstall the cats at will (good for emissions and when you really want to quiet down your car ).
