but i really agree with Teke. just save up for something bigger and better. Id get the stall, I have a Yank ss3500 in my garage right now that's begging to go in, but its gotta wait on H&C to get here

Since your not going for a track car, I'd say just get a ported stock TB(a couple of members do it on here, just look around, maybe do a search) and a LS6 intake should be all you need(depending on year of your car, 01+ came stock with a LS6 intake)
As for starting a new thread, go into a forum you want to post in. Look 3-4 inches below the red camaro at the top and there is a blue "New Thread" button... then go to town
gears are intrinsically weaker due to smaller teeth, but as with anything on these cars...some guys get 1000s of HARD miles on thier rears...others blow them in days.
assuming you can maintain traction, gears alone could give you a .2 or .3 sec advantage in the 1/4mi.
same with a stall...
should just need the ring/pinion, gasket, and fluid. wouldn't be a bad idea to install a stud kit and girdle to beef up the rear.
but that's increasing the cost.
