Arrow Exhuast Backfire!

Ok, I have Jett Hot LT Headers and the TSP X Rumbler. Since round november if I rev the engine up or even shift normally at lik 2 1/2 to 3 grand it will backfire. I have had this set up since august. Does anyone know why it is doing it and what can I do to make it stop! haha

It's colder now. Get it tuned and it should go away.

probabally running lean. You can get a mail order tune for cheap

I havent had it tuned at all yet. I also noticed that if I strt my car up and let it sit there and warm up, when I leave there is water from where my exhaust tips are, and someone told me that meant me engine was running rich? is that true?

There is science to say that the car is running richer than 14.7 when water is produced but you need to get it tuned first. No exact way of telling.

It should definitly be rich, not lean. TSP can do a pretty good mail order tune for you, say no to handheld programmers like the hypertech. I've also had Schwanke do a mail order tune for me, and it was done faster than anyone I've ever used. There are several sponsors that can do a great job for you

now that its colder, the hot exhaust gas upon throttle lift is probably a bit rich, and when the unburnt fuel mixture hits the colder ambient air, something similar to thunder (high/low pressure as well as different temps colliding) happens and the mixture gets ignited.

i seriously doubt its a big enough difference to worry about getting a tune to fix it...

ok, so now that its warmer outside my car does not back fire...as much. Whenever I rev it high or get on it and then let off the gas it still backfires!!! I dont know if I should get a dyno tune or mail order or what!?
