Default High Idle Question?

Hey guys. When I have the AC on the car starts running really ruf and the temp starts to climb. My question is when this happens my car starts idling between 1500 and 2000 rpm. I don't think it's the choke sticking because you can watch it fluctuate like the PCM is trying to compensate for something. Once this starts it won't stop until I kill the car and let it cool. Even after thirty minutes of driving I can push in the clutch doing 70 and it's around 2000. WTF?

Anyone have any clue whats going on?

Only when you have the A/C on do you exp. this mess?
BTW: DO you like your Hooker Catbacks? I am contemplating a new set or a used Borla.

Yeah, only with the AC on! Really pissing me off!

I love the Hooker! I went from the stock dual/dual. Really helped the note out, but it's still semi quiet. At least compared to the Loud Mouth. I've heard with headers it sounds bad ***!!! But that's for later! Got to get this **** taken care of first.

This would happen now! I'm getting married in 12 days!

Are your fans turning on with the A/C on? Maybe the IAC valve is sticking too?

Friday I almost didn't make it home!

My problem may be solved now. I changed three things. Oil sending/temp unit, 40amp buse fuse, and thermastate. And, thanks to all the topics on a couple of sites, I was able to change these parts.

The oil sending unit was a bear!!! The feeling of accomplishment after that was pretty high!!! That install made me realise how much I hate the strut brace.

So, Sunday the temp outside at the bank said 104. I put the AC on max and drove around for about thirty minutes in all senarios. Stopped, traffic, cruising and even left it running in the garage for 15 minutes afterwards and never had a problem.

Looks like I got it all and she's back to normal. Thanks everyone!
