Is there anything I can do to prevent from locking up in 3rd short of throwing a new tq convertor at it. I remember my 2003 gtp all I had to do was lift and it'd unlock but on this car it wont do that it'll stay locked unless I gun it then it upshifts.

Have the tune changed. I changed mine to only lock in 4th when I'm less than 25% throttle and unlock when I get above 50% throttle. No lockup at all in 3rd.

I tuned mine to only lock up in 4th gear.

 

Its all in the tune. Most people set the converter to unlock if more than a ____ amount of throttle is applied. In you case it sounds like that number may be a little bit to high.

 

yeah But I wasnt aware that you can unlock a factory Gm computer.
