Exhuast dumped question
I have LT's and a y-pipe on my car only right now. Its loud and got me pulled over. I purchased a Moroso Spiral flow, but only one. I want it dumped but not sure how to hook it up. and i need to to be quieted down considerably.
Should the spriral flow be hooked directly up to my y-pipe? Im confused here. Please help

A spiral flo on the end of a y pipe is one off the best sounding systems out there, I have built and installed a few. It will quieten it down alot. The end of your y pipe is a smaller diameter than the y pipe itseld so a 3" pipe can slip over it. The spiral flow is made to slip OVER a 3" pipe so you really need to either cut that small end of the y pipe off or have it expanded to 3" so the spiral flo is a tight slip fit. Put you a good band clamp on it and call it a day. No hanger even needed if you are using the y pipe factory hanger because that muffler is so light it will still be very rigid on the end.

Well, i wanted to use the LEAST amount of material I can to save weight. So dumps are the best bet. Are you saying the spiral flow will be louder than just LT's and a Y pipe? Cause thats pretty ******* loud.

Take your y pipe off. Take it to the muffler shop and have the end expanded to 3". Go back home and install the y pipe. Slide the spiral flo on to the y pipe and clamp it with a band clamp. Your done. Like I said, if you are using the stock y pipe mount that mounts off the side of the tranny you will not even need a hanger. It will be very stiff and rigid. No bouncing. Its just too light.
It is honestly out of all the exhaust I have had on my car, and thats alot, the best sounding I ever had.

Here is mine with about a foot of 3" pipe off of the "Y" and a Spiral Flow dumped before the axle. I think it's pretty damn loud. I might end up going with a catback. It does sound good though!http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p...t=MOV00001.flv
