02 problems.
02 problems. Had to drive my car home from the shop with straight headers. Only drove it around 6 miles. Now the car runs like a dog. Pulled a plug and its running very lean. Do I need new 02 sensors? They are original to the car. I put an 18 inch piece of pipe to help but it still sputters down low. Any thoughts?
Well you basically have zero exhaust restriction now so it's going to pass more air through the motor to make it a little leaner but the computer should adjust the air/fuel mix to compensate. You may need 02 sensors if the car has a bunch of miles but I doubt they would coincidentally need replacement right when you run it with open headers. I say put the exhaust on and it will probably run fine.

Wideband dyno tune will fix it. Do you have any SES lights? If so, does it flash? You might have already fried your o2's.

same exact problem I have the same exact problem. i just got back from a little spin in my car with stright headers. it runs like sH#@!!! i got up to 15mph and it had no power at all, do you think putting the y pipe on will make it run right?

SES has always been on car has had lots of mods. Car only has 60k on it. When I drove it home was pretty cool out . I think it freaked out the 02's. Will the car adjust its self once the exhaust is put back on? Or did I ruin the 02's?
When I first got my car done, I put new o2s in, and had to drive it about 10 miles open header'd and my SES light was on, but I think that was due to the recent cam swap, !EGR and rear o2s, but it always ran good, I recently put my Y pipe on and its fine. I have heard running open headers with no pipe extension, especially in cold weather can kill o2s.
