Default Oxygen Sensors?

Turns out my POST cat oxygen sensors are ratteling.

Any idea if they are covered under warrenty?

I have a cutout on, but I cannot see how that would lead to the oxygen sensors ratteling, therefore it SHOULD be covered under warrenty right?

Have an appt. Monday at the dealer. Any ideas?

Yes I am Positive.

The inside of the sensor is porciline (sp?) just like spark plugs are. So it can brake over time if enough pressure is placed on it.

I took it to SPEED INC, and we put it on the lift. DEFINENTLY coming from the O2 sensor.

They tell me that it is a common problem.

I doubt they'll cover it. They are a "wear item" on top of that. Chances are they'll see the cutout, blame it for the noise and tell you you're paying for it. Been the dealership road too many times myself. Good luck, though!

they should because it is part of the emission and therefore is covered longer then the car is.
also the cutout should not have any affect on your repair. if they try to charge you, inform them of the Moss-Magnuson act!

If the dealer will not replace the oxygen sensors, is it possible for me to just put on a set of O2 sims instead?

I heard original O2 sensors retail for over $100?

Get some BOSCH sensors at Autozone and call it a day.
