I'm really not digging those turndowns, even from that angle. They look so out of place on your car for some reason...

I agree with MeentSS02. I'd move the mufflers back some so the turndowns exit under the bumper and can't be seen from the angle you took that last photo from. Yeah and paint them flat black too.

The rest of the system is pretty sweet though.

Well I have been taking everything everybody has said and chewed on it. I was sitting around the car today with a couple buddies and I think I found myself trying to talk myself it to the muffler set-up. I tried it like this because I saw another member with them installed the same way, that is what gave me the idea. Only problem is I don't think there is a place under the car they can sit and not hang to low, I love how much ground clearence I have. Anyway I talked to the guy who did them for me and he said we could look at the situation and figure something out no charge. The guy im dealing with is a stand up guy with mass skills. I think we can figure something out. Do you guys have any ideas or possibly any pics? I have searched the forum and I do not want to dump before the axle.

I really wish there was a better place to put 1 chambers in an over the axel set up. I used to have them in that location and switched to sweet thunders. They fit so much better and don't sound to bad either. Although I would like my 1 chambers back.

I always hear that term from older people expecially that don't know much about cars. What the hell does it mean?

"Don't know much about cars?" Why would you say that?

Back in the early days of muscle cars, they didn't have the machinery they have today to make cams. Today, you can send away to one of dozens of companies to get a custom-made cam for your motor. Back in the day, there were only a handful of cams you could pick. A 3/4 race cam was one of the cams you could buy off the shelf. It would be one of the larger cams. That's all you could get back in the day - a handful of preselected cams for your muscle car because these individual shops didn't have their own machines to make camshafts.

It's not that these people "don't know much about cars." They just come from a different generation of cars. It wasn't as easy to mod your car and make it fast like it is today.

I was just making a joke with the "3/4 race cam" comment.

I'd also have done the turndowns at a 45* angle.

Hell, if you like it.....that's all that matters! I'm not a big fan of the setup mainly because of the looks but who cares. I was looking into the side exit boom tubes.....https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....87&postcount=1 looks clean and sounds nasty!

I had a friend who wedged in some Flowmaster 40's that way on his duals ... as soon as I saw them, I ran for a can of hi-temp black paint and started spraying. Looked a lot better.

Turndowns are a turn-off on our cars. Would straight pipes and tips be doable on your set-up?

Hell ya all that matters is if I like it. My biggest concern was retaining what little ground clearence I do have. I had seen this on another members set up and I thought I would give it a try. In person they didn't turn out like I thought they would. I'm not dead set on the muffler placement. I appreciate everybody's opinions positive or negative, but in the end it will look like I want. I'm definitely sticking to the single chambers. I hate pipes sticking out the back of my car, I want to have him shorten and tuck them behind the bumper.

Thanks for everybody's comments.

At the time that was the most distance I could get from the car, but ya I know what you mean.

Why not just use a bullet style muffler? The current ones look awful. What size is the pipe, 2.5 or 3.0?

I just mainly herd the term 3/4 cam from people that didn't know much about cars. You said it was a cam from the muscle car era so I guess thats reason it was only older people that I herd it from. Why did they call it a 3/4 cam instead of just saying the specs?
