High Oil Temperature

High Oil Temperature Can anyone help??
We are using an LS1 engine in an airplane and we are concerned about the oil temp.
It is running as high as 240+ under high power conditions. The oil temp eventually gets down to somewhere below 220 but this seems high.
Are there any concerns about these temperatures and if so what can we do to get the temp down?

Re: High Oil Temperature I really wouldn't be too concerned. Synthetic oil can take a BARE MINIMUM of 300* before it breaks down. Probably more like 400-500 for the better ones.
Only thing I'd be worried about running 300* would be seals and stuff breaking down. Regardless, 240 MAX ain't bad at all, pretty much normal.

....so what would happen if we put a Supra engine with big single turbo in an air plane?
Anyway, anything below 250 is nothing to worry about. I would probably start to cool things down at 270+. I would only be concerned at 300+.
