Default Headers question

I have a couple of questions regarding headers.

First, I will explain what I have and want. I have flowmaster catback with 3 inch cutout right before the Y.

Although it is already loud I want it to be more loud.

How much of a difference in sound is there if I install pacesetter header?

I'm probably going to buy headers soon, so I need some tips. I can look up the how-to but is there any tips that anyone wants to give me before I install?

Also, can I just order headers or do I have to order something else that goes along with it? I heard something about sensors but i'm not really sure what those are. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks everyone.

Pacesetters are probably the easiest to install... this question seems to pop up everyday

Cut off or grind the casting tab on driver side of block..just get the car high enough and the headers slip right in! You will need o2 sensor extensions for the front, or make your own.

You can reuse the stock header bolts and gaskets...

get the o2 extensions and gaskets. another thing you should consider while youve got the car up in the air is prothane motor mounts. i didnt think about it when i did mine, so now im doing it with my h/c.

remember you need the y-pipe too. if i were you id skip out on the pacesetter one, buy a flowmaster y-merge, and have a shop custom fab you one. shouldnt be that much more expensive and garuntees youl never run into banging y-pipe/ ground clearance issues

I have a Pacesetter Y-pipe...it doesn't bang, and my car is lowered with Sportlines and I have plenty of ground clearance........

Can I do this all myself without having to take it to the shop?

Yes, with an average ratchet/wrench set and a good pair of jackstands its very easy....also you might need to borrow a grinder or sawzall from a friend to grind/cut the casting tab on the passenger side of the motor.

Other than that it's simple.

Also, get a can of PB Blaster from an autoparts store...it will help a lot on rusty parts.
